RWC, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Applications Engineer to develop concepts, cost estimates, and technical proposals for custom automated assembly and test equipment. Experience with custom or special-purpose equipment applications and cost estimating is required. This position works closely with customers, Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, and Manufacturing to turn customer requirements into practical, cost-effective equipment solutions. It is a strong fit for someone who enjoys solving manufacturing challenges and developing a project from initial concept through handoff to Engineering. Responsibilities Review customer specifications and requests for quotation. Work with customers and Sales to clarify project requirements and scope. Develop concepts for custom automation, assembly, test, and special-purpose equipment. Estimate engineering, manufacturing, assembly, and purchased-component costs. Prepare clear and accurate technical proposals. Coordinate layouts, sketches, vendor quotations, and other proposal information. Identify technical, cost, and schedule risks during the quoting process. Lead project kickoff meetings and communicate the quoted scope to internal teams. Prepare quotations for customer-requested changes. Manage multiple quotations while meeting customer deadlines. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. At least five years of related experience with custom automation, special-purpose machinery, assembly equipment, test equipment, or other engineered capital equipment. Experience developing equipment concepts and preparing cost estimates, quotations, or technical proposals. Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing processes. Ability to interpret technical specifications, drawings, and layouts. Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills. Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed. Candidates may have relevant experience in applications engineering, proposal engineering, estimating, project engineering, mechanical design, or technical sales. Why Join RWC?
