As an Application Engineer Large Bore Engine (LBE) Valves, work together with the account manager to provide the necessary service to industrial customers. The Application Engineer Large Bore Engine (LBE) Valves is the project manager responsible for the concept, design, development, and production support of Powertrain System Components and Power Cylinder Systems. This work includes Customer Program Development (APQP); Part Design; Verification & Validation Testing; Failure Analysis; Value Analysis/Value Engineering; Customer Interfacing and Simultaneous Engineering with the manufacturing plants.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare tests requests, evaluate test results, and publish final test reports. Process Sample Orders and Request For Quotes. Assist in root cause analysis of EOT (End of Test) or field returned parts. Participate in the business group meetings. Responsible for developing new products as the designated project manager for the Customer Program Development (APQP) process, if required also with other global plants and tech centers. Responsible to ensure that the product design is in accordance to the agreed customer requirements. Work with manufacturing plants to assure manufacturability of designs. Required working knowledge of Powertrain Components and Power Cylinder Systems. Ability to evaluate the business issues and prioritize activities. Assist/direct the education and training of less experienced Application Engineers. Ability to take a lead role in major advanced engineering projects. Travel as required to support the customer and to support/develop new opportunities.JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in engineering required. 8-10 years of experience in engineering. Deep expertise in valves or related engineered products required. Proven ability to conduct DOE, DFMEA, and failure analysis testing. Strong understanding of statistics, GD&T, Tolerance Stack Ups Demonstrated ability to drive results in cross-functional, matrixed environments. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.Estimated Travel:
