The Software Integration Engineer will plan and perform a variety of tasks involving the integration of hardware modules into combat vehicle systems, integration of software onto Linux operating systems, scripting, networking, cybersecurity hardening and scanning, troubleshooting, problem solving, and software verification testing. Key Responsibilities Integrate and test software applications running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and hardware components on combat vehicle systems. Apply knowledge of Ethernet and CAN bus within software applications and tools to test and troubleshoot problems. Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and vehicle test teams to investigate reported issues and analyze collected data. Ensure technical approaches are consistent with established engineering principles and practices. Ensure product outcomes meet customer needs as well as customer and company technical, system, performance, process, and quality requirements. Required Skills Experience integrating and testing software applications on Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating systems. Ability to build and maintain software and hardware integration testbeds. Understanding of Ethernet and CAN bus protocols. Experience with Git and Jira/GitLab configuration management tools. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Familiarity with current computer applications and technologies within applicable engineering disciplines. Ability to apply critical thinking to solve technical design and development problems. Ability to develop and maintain effective customer relationships while solving technical problems. Ability to travel to customer sites. Ability to work on combat vehicle systems. Preferred Skills Familiarity with embedded systems. Familiarity with scripting languages, including Bash, PowerShell, and Python. Familiarity with C and C++ programming. Familiarity with VxWorks or other real-time operating systems (RTOS). Familiarity with relevant military and commercial design standards. Familiarity with
MIL-STD-1553.
Familiarity with UML modeling tools. Familiarity with DOORS. Familiarity with CMMI for development. Familiarity with the Qt Framework and QML for front-end GUIs. Familiarity with Ethernet-based protocols, including SSL/TLS, SSH, and SFTP. Familiarity with Nessus and Coverity cybersecurity scans. Familiarity with system hardening and applying STIG rules. Familiarity with the configuration and use of virtual machines. Required Experience Relevant internship experience. Experience integrating software applications on Red Hat Enterprise Linux, including: Packaging software as RPMs and binary executables. Working with drivers, shared objects, and static libraries. Preferred Experience 1 year of relevant experience. Experience using NI TestStand. Familiarity with combat vehicle functionality and capabilities. Required Education Bachelor's degree in a STEM field. Preferred Education Bachelor's degree in one of the following disciplines: Computer Science Computer Engineering Software Engineering Electrical Engineering Additional Requirements Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance is required.
