Job Description

Job Description Insight Global is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to support a Tier 1 automotive customer. This individual will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing embedded software systems running on Linux, with a focus on troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving issues related to existing products and feature enhancements. The engineer will work from a ticketing queue, partnering closely with customer support, product, and engineering teams to investigate problems, implement fixes, and support new feature requests. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of embedded software development experience, strong C++ programming skills, experience working in Linux environments, excellent communication abilities, and prior automotive industry experience.

C+Embedded Linux Debugging & Root Cause Analysis Embedded Systems/Firmware Automotive Software Development Cross-Functional Collaboration Agile Development Environment $55/hr to $62/hr Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law. Skills and Requirements Bachelor's Degree - Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar. 3+ years C++, Linux shell script and/or Golang software development experience. Proven ability to analyze and navigate legacy codebases, including independently investigating, debugging, and resolving issues without detailed documentation. Demonstrated skill at navigating ambiguity and resolving issues without detailed instructions or oversight. Proficient in Linux environments and shell scripting. Experience with agile software development process. Familiarity with debugging tools, performance profiling, and system optimization techniques. Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to clearly document and explain technical concepts. Advanced degree in a related engineering field Connected vehicle, telematics, or IoT experience Embedded Linux or RTOS development experience Experience with CAN, LIN, or Automotive Ethernet Cellular/Wi-Fi communication experience Knowledge of automotive software coding standards (MISRA, C++ Core Guidelines)
