Job Title:
Software Engineer Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to modify, develop, write, and implement software programming applications related to avionics and aircraft systems, including navigation, autoflight, propulsion, and maintenance. The role involves participating in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing, and software certification. You will rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the job functions and should have some knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field. Responsibilities Modify, develop, write, and implement software programming applications related to avionics and aircraft systems. Participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing, and certification of software. Design, develop, code, and document applications following specifications using appropriate tools. Perform non-routine tasks requiring judgment and initiative under regular direction and guidance. Make minor changes in processes to solve problems or improve the effectiveness of approaches and routines. Propose solutions to problems for others to review. Communicate with team members to provide or obtain information requiring explanation or interpretation. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Computer Science, or related area with emphasis on flight dynamics and control. Basic experience in C or C++. Experience with system testing concepts, performance issues, and testing optimization. Ability to meet schedules, work under pressure, and work well with teams and individuals at all levels. Additional Skills & Qualifications Minor/Major in Computer Science in conjunction with an Aerospace degree is a plus. Python programming is a plus. Exposure to Artificial Intelligence is a plus. Motivated to build on technical skills and maintain positive customer relationships. Excellent time management skills and communication abilities. Work Environment This position is within the engineering sector, where you will work independently on tasks requiring judgment and initiative. The work involves contributing to changes in systems and processes to solve problems. You will communicate primarily with your own team and work in an environment that values effective problem-solving and technical proficiency. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Burnsville, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
