Job Description
Sales Engineer / Application Engineer Posted on June 9, 2025 June 9, 2025 by JMJ Phillip We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Sales Engineer / Application Engineer to join our client's team. This role focuses on evaluating customer machining fixture and automation requirements, recommending, configuring, quoting, and selling power work holding solutions. The ideal candidate will work directly with strategic accounts and support channel partner sales teams to drive business growth. Position Responsibilities Sales and Business Development Develop and execute a strategic sales plan covering current and prospective accounts, meeting or exceeding sales goals. Collaborate with sales channel partners, product managers, engineering, and marketing to drive sales initiatives. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and distributors to foster collaboration and trust. Qualify leads and manage sales efforts generated from marketing campaigns. Technical Consultation and Solution Selling Engage with customer engineers and technical personnel to gather requirements and suggest robust, safe, and efficient solutions. Interpret customer design and process requirements to recommend suitable power workholding devices and systems. Educate customers and distributors on product features, applications, and benefits. Territory Management and Reporting Travel within the sales territory to meet prospects and customers. Prepare weekly customer meeting plans and provide detailed call reports. Utilize CRM systems to track sales leads, customer accounts, and activity. Trade Show and Event Support Manage and support participation in assigned trade shows and industry events. Prerequisites Associate or bachelor's degree in a related technical field preferred but not required. Minimum of 5 years experience in the CNC machining industry, ideally with knowledge of metal machining, machining fixtures, cutting tools, machining vises, or zero-point mounting systems. Experience with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D design software is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and TEAMS. Willingness and ability to travel at least 50%. Self-starter with strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently. In-depth product knowledge and application expertise to optimize customer solutions.
