Job#: 3051961 Software Developer - API modernization

Location:

Maryland Heights, MO (Onsite) Role Overview We are seeking a Software Developer to support a strategic API modernization initiative. This role will focus on migrating existing APIs to Spring-based services and supporting the evolution toward AI-enabled customer support solutions. The ideal candidate will possess backend API development experience, an understanding of RESTful services, and experience modernizing legacy integrations. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-visibility customer support platforms. Key Responsibilities Analyze existing integration logic and implementations. Translate workflows and API functionality into modern Spring-based services. Design, develop, and maintain REST APIs supporting platform capabilities. Collaborate with architects, developers, business stakeholders, and integration teams to modernize legacy services. Participate in API migration efforts supporting customer troubleshooting, repair, and support workflows. Ensure scalability, reliability, security, and performance of newly developed APIs. Assist with integration efforts related to AI-enabled customer support and workflow automation initiatives. Participate in code reviews, design discussions, testing, and deployment activities. Create technical documentation and support knowledge transfer activities. Work closely with both onshore and offshore development resources. Required Qualifications This position may be filled at a level II or III, depending on candidate experience.

Software Developer II:

3+ years of software development experience. Strong Java development experience. Experience developing RESTful APIs and consuming/developing web services. Experience with Spring Boot and related Spring technologies. Understanding of API design, integration patterns, and microservices architecture. Knowledge of source control tools such as Git. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Software Developer III:

6+ years of software development experience. Advanced Java and Spring Boot expertise. Proven experience modernizing or migrating legacy integration platforms. Strong understanding of microservices, API management, and enterprise integration patterns. Ability to lead technical design discussions and mentor other developers. Experience working across complex enterprise environments. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Tibco BusinessWorks, Tibco EMS, or related Tibco integration technologies. Experience converting or modernizing Tibco-based integrations. Exposure to AI, conversational AI, Agentic AI, IVA, IVR, or customer support platforms. Experience supporting call center or customer service applications. Full-stack or UI development experience. Cloud platform experience. Telecommunications industry experience.
