• Essent Group - Senior Cloud Developer Winston-Salem, NC | Onsite, 5 days per week | Contract-to-hire (6 months) Position Overview Essent is adding a Senior Cloud Developer to its Radnor-based technology team. This is a hands-on individual contributor role - the team is building development capacity, not adding management. The successful candidate will design, build, and support cloud applications and automation across an all-AWS infrastructure footprint, working closely with counterparts across the IT organization. Required Qualifications 5+ years of hands-on Python development in a production environment Deep AWS services experience, including Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, EC2, Glue, Kinesis, IAM, ELB, and VPC Infrastructure-as-code experience with CDK or Terraform Boto3 SDK Strong AWS cloud fundamentals across both test and production environments Automated unit testing and integration testing Experience with AI coding assistants; Kiro preferred Collaborative working style suited to a team environment rather than siloed, heads-down work Preferred Qualifications AWS Cloud Practitioner or Developer Associate certification Experience ingesting large data volumes Application monitoring and load testing Prior development experience in financial services or real estate Additional Notes Infrastructure is entirely AWS. No Azure hosting. Certifications are preferred rather than required at the time of hire; Essent supports and encourages certification for developers on staff. Single-round interview weighted toward technical depth, followed by platform and tool experience, then team fit.
