Job Description

Pathfinder Inspections & Field Services is seeking an experienced AI Application Developer to build, improve, and maintain internal and customer-facing applications that support our field and administrative operations. This position will use AI-assisted development tools, including Claude, to quickly turn business needs into working software. We are looking for someone who can use AI to move development forward while still having the technical knowledge to understand, troubleshoot, correct, secure, and maintain the code being produced. This is not a prompt-only position. The ideal candidate has real software development experience and can take a project from an initial idea through development, deployment, and ongoing support. We want to see your experience in action. Candidates are encouraged to share an application, tool, or project they have developed using AI-assisted development. A portfolio, GitHub repository, live application, demo, or other example of your work is strongly encouraged. Responsibilities Build and maintain web applications and APIs using AI-assisted development tools, including Claude Work with Pathfinder leadership and employees to turn business needs into practical technology solutions Take projects from initial idea and prototype through testing, deployment, maintenance, and support Build and deploy applications and backend services using Microsoft Azure Work with Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Storage, and other appropriate data solutions Configure and maintain authentication and authorization through Microsoft Entra ID Secure application credentials and sensitive information using Azure Key Vault Build and maintain Git-based workflows and CI/CD pipelines Review AI-generated code for accuracy, security, performance, cost, and maintainability Troubleshoot application issues and provide support after deployment Maintain clear documentation for applications, development decisions, and processes Research AI and technology tools that could improve Pathfinder operations Protect confidential company, employee, customer, and operational information Qualifications Experience building and deploying real software using AI-assisted coding tools Working knowledge of at least one modern development stack, such as TypeScript/React, Python/FastAPI, or .NET Ability to read, troubleshoot, modify, and correct AI-generated code Hands-on experience deploying and operating applications in Microsoft Azure Working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID Experience with Git-based workflows, code review, and CI/CD Strong understanding of application security and secure development practices Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and turn a business need into a working technology solution Preferred Qualifications Experience with Microsoft Entra External ID or Azure AD B2C Experience with Conditional Access, PIM, Azure API Management, Service Bus, or Event Grid Experience with the Anthropic
API, MCP
servers, or agent-based AI workflows Experience with Azure cost management and cloud architecture Azure or Microsoft certifications such as AZ-204, AZ-305, or SC-300 Experience developing applications for oilfield services, field operations, HR, safety, fleet, payroll, inventory, scheduling, or similar operational environments
