- $170,560 Job Description Gauge Engineering Services is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to support the development of next-generation airborne mission computer systems used in military helicopter platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Develop embedded software in C and C++ for single board computer platforms supporting airborne mission computer systems.
- Design, develop, and maintain device drivers that interface with electronic hardware and FPGA-based systems.
- Work within Linux-based operating systems and real-time operating systems (RTOS) such as LynxOS, Integrity, or similar environments.
- Participate in Agile development activities including sprint planning, story execution, testing, and delivery.
- Interpret and execute technical requirements, data sheets, build instructions, and engineering documentation with a high degree of accuracy.
- Integrate, troubleshoot, and validate software functionality with hardware subsystems.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to support the development of advanced avionics and mission system technologies.
- Support internal research and development projects focused on innovative and proprietary defense-related technologies.
- Contribute to software verification, debugging, and performance optimization activities.
Required Skills:
- 7+ years of experience in a software engineering environment
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.
- Experience developing embedded software in C; C++ experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with Linux operating systems.
- Experience working in a real-time operating system environment (RTOS) such as LynxOS, Integrity, VxWorks, QNX, or similar.
- Experience developing software for embedded hardware or single board computer platforms.
- Understanding of low-level software concepts, hardware interfaces, and device driver development.
- Ability to follow detailed written instructions, technical procedures, and engineering documentation.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively within an Agile development environment.
Desired Skills:
- Experience developing software for aerospace, avionics, defense, or mission-critical systems.
- Experience interfacing software with FPGA-based hardware.
- Familiarity with military aircraft systems, mission computers, avionics, or weapons system integrations.
- Exposure to hardware/software integration and system-level testing.

4x10's Monday- Thursday, with flexibility
Pay & Benefits:
$78- 82/HR + Medical, Dental, Vision plan and 401K with matching.
