Stack Development Engineer Pay Rate Range:
$40.00 - 42.00/hr (DOE)
Employment Type:

Schedule:
Monday Friday, Standard Business Hours (~40 hrs/week)
Location:
Painted Post, NY 14870 (100% Onsite) Tekberry is looking for a highly qualified and motivated Stack Development Engineer to work on-site with our client in Painted Post, NY. This is a contract opportunity supporting software development initiatives within a research and development engineering environment. Position Summary The Software Engineer I will work within a cross-functional Agile team to design, develop, and maintain full stack applications supporting research, engineering, and scientific workflows. This role will focus heavily on front-end application development using JavaScript/TypeScript and Vue.js, while also contributing to back-end API and service development using Python and PostgreSQL. Key Responsibilities Participate in Agile development activities including sprint planning, stand-ups, backlog refinement, and code reviews Design, build, and maintain scalable front-end and back-end applications Develop user-facing features using JavaScript, TypeScript, and Vue.js Develop and maintain APIs, business logic, and data integrations using Python and GraphQL Support relational database development and maintenance using PostgreSQL Collaborate with engineers, scientists, designers, and product stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions Contribute across the full software development lifecycle including design, testing, debugging, deployment, and enhancements Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code Troubleshoot issues across UI, API, and database layers Participate in architecture discussions and continuous improvement initiatives Explore and evaluate new tools, frameworks, and technologies to improve product capabilities and development efficiency
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related field Associate's degree may be considered with additional relevant experience Minimum 2+ years of professional software development experience Strong front-end development experience using: JavaScript TypeScript Vue.js or similar modern frameworks Experience developing back-end services and APIs in Python Experience with GraphQL APIs and schema-driven development Experience with relational databases, especially PostgreSQL Familiarity with software testing practices including unit and integration testing Experience using version control systems and participating in code reviews Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
Preferred :
Experience supporting scientific, engineering, or research-focused applications Exposure to materials science or technically complex environments Experience contributing to scalable application architecture and design discussions Soft Skills Strong communication and collaboration skills Comfortable working in cross-functional Agile environments Ability to manage ambiguity and evolving project requirements High attention to detail and code quality Initiative, curiosity, and willingness to learn new technologies Work Environment 100% onsite in Painted Post, NY Agile software development environment supporting engineering and scientific teams Minimal to no travel required No on-call responsibilities Occasional extended hours or weekend support may be needed during project milestones Interview Process Initial phone screen Teams interview or onsite interview depending on candidate location Additional Notes Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. for a minimum of 18 months from start date Non-local candidates willing to relocate at their own expense will be considered We need hard-working, reliable employees.
