  • $101,379 a year 11 hours ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Full Job Description A Brief Overview The Report Developer I supports the creation and maintenance of operational and analytical reports using modern BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Epic Cogito (Reporting Workbench, Radar Dashboards, and SlicerDicer).
This role focuses on building standard reports, validating data, and assisting with dashboard development under guidance. Candidates should have foundational SQL skills, exposure to data visualization principles, and familiarity with connecting business intelligence (BI) tools to common data sources. Basic scripting knowledge (Python or PowerShell) and awareness of cloud analytics concepts are a plus. What You Will Do Designs and develops basic reports and dashboards using reporting platform tools and basic SQL queries. Selects appropriate data sources from approved datasets, performs basic data validation checks (e.g., record counts, field consistency), and ensures integrity when building structured reports. Ensures report products are efficient and adhere to naming and formatting conventions. Collaborates with subject matter experts to gather basic reporting requirements, clarify business use cases and metrics, and translate them into simple technical specifications with support from senior team members as needed. Writes and tests simple queries in modern analytics tools to support reporting needs, adhering to naming and formatting conventions. Assists in documenting workflows and data definitions for reports, including report specifications, data definitions, workflow diagrams, data mapping, testing and validation procedures, and end-user guides. Performs QA testing and leads user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate report accuracy prior to production release. Establishes and maintains documentation standards for data extractions, output specifications, and reporting requirements. Supports end-user inquiries by providing guidance on report navigation, filters, and exports; escalates complex issues to senior team members. Distributes reports according to agreed timelines and specifications using methods such as email subscriptions, shared network folders, dashboards, or scheduled exports. Coordinates with server administrators, DBAs, and vendors to schedule automated SQL agent jobs and related processes. Supports and maintains reporting platforms by performing routine monitoring, troubleshooting basic environment issues, and assisting with preparations for service packs and upgrades. Participates in team code reviews and version control processes to ensure code quality and consistency. Commits changes to repositories and adheres to branching and deployment guidelines when migrating content to production. Additional Responsibilities Provides 24/7 on-call support as assigned. Education High School Equivalent / GED (Required) and Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business Management, Mathematics or related field (Preferred) Work Experience less than 1 year Experience working in a data-focused role with primary responsibilities centered on data analysis, integration, and reporting to support clinical and business operations and decision making. (Preferred) less than 1 year Experience with report creation using BI tools such as Power BI and Tableau. Understanding of data visualization principles. (Preferred) Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Demonstrated knowledge of database structures, relationships, and reporting protocols, with practical experience in Microsoft cloud technologies and analytics, and proficiency or familiarity with BI tools such as Power BI and Tableau. (Preferred proficiency) Must work at a very high level of accuracy and have a broad knowledge of technical workings of database structure and reporting protocols. (Preferred proficiency) Ability to write queries that are efficient and utilize optimized joins, subqueries, and indexing strategies. Familiarity with financial and operational healthcare data, including claims, billing, reimbursement, and key performance indicators.
