This individual will lead while remaining closely involved in technical decision-making, system design, and production support. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys mentoring teams, driving delivery, and staying connected to the technology without being a day-to-day individual contributor. Mentor a team of software developers across multiple application initiatives. Partner with business stakeholders to prioritize work, gather requirements, and deliver solutions that improve operational efficiency. Provide technical leadership through architecture reviews, design discussions, code reviews, and release planning. Drive modernization efforts across a portfolio of custom business applications and integrated platforms. Help evolve development practices, including the use of AI-assisted development tools, automation, testing, and specification-driven delivery approaches. Oversee application support, incident response, and root cause analysis to maintain system reliability and performance. Collaborate with IT leadership on roadmap planning, resource allocation, team development, and process improvement. 5+ years of experience in software development leadership, application management, or a related engineering management role. Demonstrated knowledge of application lifecycle management, project delivery practices, and team performance oversight. Hands-on technical background with C#, .NET Framework, ASP.NET MVC, HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript technologies such as React.js or AngularJS. Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server, Azure, and web service integrations including REST and SOAP. Ability to gather and refine user requirements, translate business objectives into technical solutions, and communicate progress clearly to stakeholders. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including the ability to guide teams through defect resolution and system improvements. Familiarity with identity management, SharePoint, and enterprise application support within a cross-functional IT environment.
