Mason, Ohio Role Overview We are looking for a skilled CNC Programmer / Applications Engineer to lead the creation, programming, and execution of precision machining workflows. The perfect fit will possess deep expertise in Siemens NX alongside a robust history in CNC machining, specifically within milling, turning, or grinding environments. This role demands a blend of technical programming prowess, manufacturing insight, and superior communication abilities. You will partner with customers, vendors, and internal departments—including engineering and manufacturing—to craft efficient machining strategies, resolve technical hurdles, and guide projects seamlessly from initial design to final production. Core Duties Utilize Siemens NX to design and refine CNC programs for milling, turning, or grinding tasks. Generate and adjust CNC code to manufacture intricate, high-tolerance parts. Design comprehensive machining plans, including tool paths, cutting data, tooling choices, and workholding setups to ensure project success. Analyze technical blueprints, 3D models, and GD&T requirements to establish the most effective production methods. Assist in the rollout and integration of innovative machining techniques and applications. Partner with shop floor personnel to validate programs and help boost overall production efficiency. Identify and resolve technical roadblocks related to programming, tooling, or fixturing to maintain operational flow. Contribute to project quoting by assessing manufacturing needs, cycle times, and technical specifications. Engage directly with clients and suppliers to clarify project goals and address technical inquiries. Coordinate with quality, production, and engineering teams to guarantee that project objectives are met. Contribute manufacturing expertise during internal and client-facing design reviews. Drive process enhancements to help improve quality, repeatability, and total output for the team. Maintain accurate records of programming, process data, and application details. Keep up-to-date with advancements in CNC technology, tooling trends, and programming methodologies. Essential Requirements Extensive practical experience using Siemens NX for CNC programming and CAM workflows. Proven track record of programming CNC machinery within a professional manufacturing setting. Demonstrated proficiency in at least one of the following: CNC Milling, CNC Turning/Lathe, or CNC Grinding. Deep knowledge of machining fundamentals, including tooling, cutting parameters, and workholding. Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, 3D models, and GD&T standards. Strong analytical skills to help solve complex technical problems. Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities. Ability to foster clear communication across diverse groups including customers, vendors, and internal technical teams. Capability to handle multiple tasks and shifting priorities in a high-speed production environment. High level of precision to ensure the delivery of reliable, high-quality manufacturing programs. Desired Qualifications Background in programming sophisticated multi-axis CNC systems. Experience working with 3-, 4-, or 5-axis machining centers. Familiarity with CNC post-processors and machine-specific coding needs. Experience in high-precision manufacturing environments with tight tolerances. Background in providing technical sales support or customer application assistance. Experience within regulated sectors such as aerospace, medical, or defense. Technical degree or a comparable blend of machining and programming experience.
