Job Description

Our client, technology and aerospace/aviation systems is seeking a Senior Embedded BSP Software Engineer to join their team. As a Senior Embedded BSP Software Engineer, you will be part of the software engineering organization supporting embedded platform and system integration teams. The ideal candidate will have strong embedded Linux/QNX experience, hands-on debugging and performance optimization skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively in Agile/DevOps environments which will align successfully in the organization.

Portland, OR (Onsite) What's the Job? Design, develop, integrate, test, debug, and maintain Kernel and QNX software for next-generation In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) seat boxes. Develop and test high-quality client software applications in embedded systems based on functional and system specifications. Enhance existing software to optimize performance to meet KPIs, improve efficiency, and bolster robustness. Collaborate with hardware, platform software, Android, and system integration/validation teams to enable and support QNX-based platform functionality from bootloader through OS and device driver layers. Own quality through comprehensive test plans and procedures, including functional testing, regression testing, and performance benchmarking, plus rigorous code reviews. What's Needed? 10+ years of experience in embedded software development, including Linux kernel and/or device driver development, debugging, and testing. Hands-on experience with Board Bring-up and a strong understanding of boot processes and flows. Strong programming skills in C/C++ and Python, with competence in scripting languages for automation and tooling. Knowledge of communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, and USB, plus understanding of TCP/IP and
HTTP/HTTPS
protocols. Familiarity with QNX Hypervisor and operating system development concepts, including security protocols and updates; experience with test automation tools and techniques; proficiency with Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
