What impact you'll make As a student of the Application Engineering function, you will be an active contributor to the Energy Storage initiatives for Datacenters and Utility-Scale Storage here. You'll work alongside experienced engineers to help shape how energy storage technologies are applied across two of the fastest-growing segments in the energy industry - supporting grid stability, enabling renewable integration, and powering the next generation of data infrastructure.

Job DescriptionWhat you'll do (Job Responsibilities)Support the development of system configurations for Energy Storage System applications in datacenter and utility-scale projectsAssist in calculating and analyzing energy storage performance scenarios to evaluate sizing constraintsResearch emerging energy storage technologies, market trends, and industry standards to support application engineering decisionsCollaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, product management, and engineering to contribute to customer-facing technical contentParticipate in technical discussions and help document site requirements and use-case needsHelp prepare technical presentations, application guides, and internal reports for stakeholdersWhat you'll bring (Basic Qualifications)Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related technical fieldFoundational knowledge of electrical systems, power electronics, or energy conversion principles demonstrated through coursework or prior experienceProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio)Available to commit to a full-time internship schedule for the designated program termEligible to work in the United States for this internship without requiring any sponsorship by GEVWhat will make you stand out (Desired Qualifications)You have a passion for clean energy and decarbonization, with a curiosity about how large-scale energy storage enables the transition to a low-carbon gridYou are someone who brings strong analytical thinking and attention to detail, with the ability to translate complex technical data into clear insightsYou have experience with energy storage, power systems, or datacenter infrastructure through coursework, research, or a prior internshipYou are a confident communicator comfortable presenting technical concepts to both engineering and non-technical audiencesYou have familiarity with tools such as AutoCAD, ETAP, Homer Pro, Python or energy storage modeling platformsYou bring a collaborative, team-first mindset and thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $21 and $34/hr.
