POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced Staff DevSecOps Engineer / DevSecOps Product Owner to lead the development and delivery of secure, high-velocity software pipelines supporting mission-critical space and defense systems. This role will drive the delivery of a robust infrastructure platform capable of orchestrating deployments of fully integrated software environments while ensuring releases are both fast and secure. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with Git, Ansible, Kubernetes, cloud technologies, containers, automation, and secure CI/CD environments. This individual will combine technical DevSecOps expertise with product ownership responsibilities to drive infrastructure capabilities, integrate security throughout the development lifecycle, and support automated testing, continuous integration, and automated deployment. Experience with HADES is specifically preferred for this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Lead the creation and delivery of secure, high-velocity software development and deployment pipelines.
  • Drive delivery of an infrastructure platform capable of orchestrating deployments of fully integrated software environments.
  • Apply DevSecOps best practices, including automated testing, continuous integration, automated deployment, and security scanning.
  • Utilize Git, Ansible, Kubernetes, and related automation technologies to support development and deployment environments.
  • Develop and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines supporting mission-critical software.
  • Incorporate automation throughout software development, infrastructure management, testing, and deployment processes.
  • Support technical planning, design, development, integration, verification, and validation throughout the total system lifecycle.
  • Develop, document, test, troubleshoot, and debug software supporting mission and business requirements.
  • Utilize coding and scripting to automate software, infrastructure, security, and operational processes.
  • Support cloud and infrastructure environments utilizing technologies such as AWS, OpenStack, Azure, and OpenShift.
  • Support infrastructure automation utilizing technologies such as Ansible and Terraform.
  • Integrate cybersecurity principles, standards, controls, and security testing throughout software development and deployment processes.
  • Perform or support threat modeling, security risk assessments, and security testing.
  • Assess, prioritize, and manage cybersecurity and operational risks.
  • Ensure DevSecOps practices comply with applicable information security, regulatory, compliance, and governance requirements.
  • Translate customer and product requirements into complete system solutions while accounting for technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition.
  • Translate customer requirements into hardware and software feature definitions and acceptance criteria.
  • Support software and hardware deployment pipelines and development factories.
  • Troubleshoot software, infrastructure, automation, networking, security, and deployment issues.
  • Support configuration and integration of Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) and Free and Open-Source Software (FOSS) technologies.
  • Maintain operating instructions, development documentation, and technical records.
  • Ensure applicable software development, cybersecurity, and engineering standards are followed throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Validate that required features and use cases are properly incorporated into implemented designs.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Basic Qualifications
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with Git.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with Ansible.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with Kubernetes.
  • Strong technical experience with coding, scripting, and automation.
  • Experience supporting modern software development and infrastructure environments.
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies, containers, and orchestration technologies.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles, practices, standards, and security tools.
  • Experience integrating automation into software development and deployment processes.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • U.S. Citizenship required to obtain a government security clearance.
  • Must meet government eligibility requirements for access to classified information and maintain the required security eligibility throughout employment. Additional Qualifications
  • Experience with AWS, OpenStack, Azure, and/or OpenShift.
  • Strong Linux experience.
  • Security+ or CISSP certification.
  • Experience designing CI/CD deployment pipelines, automated builds, and security scanning processes.
  • Experience with Terraform.
  • Experience with Bash scripting.
  • Strong understanding of networking.
  • Experience with
COTS/FOSS
configuration and integration.
  • Software development experience with Java, Python, and/or JavaScript.
  • Experience with HADES is preferred.
  • Experience with threat modeling, cybersecurity risk assessment, and security testing.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity compliance and governance requirements.
  • Experience supporting secure, classified, aerospace, defense, space, or other mission-critical environments is highly relevant.
  • Proficiency in AI prompting as it applies to DevSecOps engineering.
