Full-Time | 50%+ TravelAbout the RoleWe are seeking a skilled Applications Engineer II to provide technical expertise supporting CNC machine applications, customer projects, and sales initiatives. In this role, you will work hands-on with advanced machining technologies, delivering solutions through demonstrations, process optimization, and turnkey engineering support.
This is a high-impact, customer-facing role ideal for professionals who enjoy solving complex manufacturing challenges and collaborating across engineering, sales, and customer teams.
What You Will DoProvide technical support to customers, sales teams, and trade show activities (on-site and remote)Conduct time studies, test cuts, and machine demonstrations based on customer requirementsDesign and build fixtures and workholding solutions for machining applicationsDevelop and troubleshoot complex machining and manufacturing processesCreate CNC programs using:
Conversational programmingIndustry-standard CAM systemsDirect G-Code / Macro programmingSet up CNC machines, including 5-axis and mill-turn platformsPerform inspection of finished parts to ensure quality and precisionGenerate engineering studies, reports, and technical documentationProgram and operate CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) systemsCollaborate with internal teams and customers to assess technical requirements and deliver solutionsWhat You BringBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (or equivalent machining experience)3+ years of relevant experience in CNC machining or applications engineeringStrong knowledge of:
CNC programming and setupMetal cutting and part processingBlueprint and drawing interpretationBasic understanding of metallurgyExperience with customer-facing technical communicationStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsHigh attention to detail and strong organizational skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and dynamic environmentsWork Environment and Physical RequirementsExposure to manufacturing environments, including machinery, noise, and industrial equipmentFrequent travel and physical activity (standing, bending, lifting, etc.)Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
