Firmware/DevOps Engineer Location:

Berkeley, CA (hybrid)

PayRate:

$70/hr to $75/hr

Responsibilities:

Build infrastructure and tooling to test, release, deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot firmware.

Manage AWS infrastructure using Terraform and Kubernetes.

Own CI/CD and production firmware-deployment pipelines.

Develop platform services and automation using Python and Golang.

Support connected controllers across commercial battery sites and production factories.

Establish monitoring, alerting, incident-response, and reliability practices.

Automate the setup and ongoing management of new customer sites.

Troubleshoot issues across firmware, cloud infrastructure, networking, and connected hardware.

Partner with Firmware, Systems, Manufacturing, and Site Operations teams.

Provide technical leadership and help grow the team over time.

Must-Haves:

5+ years of firmware-platform, DevOps, SRE, or cloud-infrastructure experience.

Experience supporting the build, release, deployment, or operation of firmware and connected devices.

Strong production experience with Kubernetes.

Strong experience with Terraform and infrastructure as code.

Experience building and managing production CI/CD pipelines.

AWS cloud-infrastructure experience.

Strong Python and/or Golang development experience.

Experience operating highly available production systems.

Monitoring, observability, incident-response, and root-cause-analysis experience.

Strong technical leadership with a willingness to remain hands-on.
