Job Description
Migration Engineer 12 month contract to hire Fort Mill, SC (Hybrid) Job Overview The Migration Engineer will support a high volume of acquisition-related integration work, with a primary focus on planning, designing, and executing large-scale email and data migrations while minimizing disruption to users and business operations. This role will support the migration of email into Exchange Online and assist with data migrations from external sources into a centralized Box environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise across enterprise messaging platforms, internet email systems, DNS, email security, migration tooling, and troubleshooting. David is looking for someone who has demonstrated success delivering complex migrations and who can partner effectively with both technical and business stakeholders throughout the migration lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Assist with the migration of mailboxes from multiple external sources into one or more managed Exchange Online tenants Support the planning and execution of migration activities while minimizing disruption to users and business operations Collaborate with senior engineers, internal teams, and external partners to assess current mailbox configurations and migration requirements Provide escalation support to end users during migrations and address issues promptly Document migration procedures, configurations, troubleshooting steps, and lessons learned Assist the Data Migration team with moving data from external sources into a centralized, managed Box environment Support troubleshooting across migration tools, email platforms, end-user clients, and related infrastructure Communicate technical migration steps and issues in clear business terms to non-technical stakeholders Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent IT work experience 3+ years of relevant IT experience 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Exchange Online, including migrations 3+ years of experience with Proofpoint Email Protection Strong understanding of:
