Senior Technical Architect
Job Description
Theorem is looking for a Senior Technical Architect to turn our D2C Video Commerce, Pre-Sales, and Upward MVPs into secure, scalable, enterprise-ready products on Microsoft Azure. Reporting directly to the CEO, this leader will own end-to-end solution architecture, technical strategy, and engineering delivery, ensuring that product decisions and execution are grounded in business priorities and intended outcomes.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Technical Architecture & Engineering Lead the architecture, design, and development of enterprise-grade applications and distributed systems using modern Microsoft technologies, including C#, ASP.NET Core, and current Microsoft-supported .NET releases, with strong expertise in modern .NET architecture, development practices, and platform modernization. Guide architectural standards, engineering frameworks, coding practices, and technical design principles across multiple engineering teams. Design scalable, resilient, secure, and high-performing cloud-native solutions aligned to business strategy and long-term platform evolution. Establish and maintain architecture roadmaps that support scalability, maintainability, extensibility, and operational efficiency. Apply modern architectural patterns and methodologies including Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Event-Driven Architecture, and Microservices. Oversee technical design reviews, architecture reviews, and code reviews to ensure engineering quality and alignment to standards. Drive system observability, reliability, performance optimization, and technical debt reduction initiatives across platforms and services. Provide technical input for executive leadership to align technology decisions with business priorities, operational goals, and product strategy. AI-Augmented Engineering & Innovation Champion the adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices through demonstrated experience using tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, etc. Introduce proven AI-enabled workflows to improve development efficiency, documentation, testing, code quality, and engineering productivity. Evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, and engineering trends to continuously modernize the organization's technical capabilities. Collaboration & Delivery Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Management, UX, DevOps, QA, and business stakeholders to define technical solutions aligned to product and business objectives. Translate highly technical concepts into clear, business-friendly communication suitable for executive and non-technical audiences. Provide strategic technical guidance during planning, prioritization, roadmap development, and enterprise decision-making for Theorem's Upward and Video Commerce solutions. Identify technical risks, scalability concerns, security vulnerabilities, and architectural dependencies early in the delivery lifecycle. Support Agile delivery methodologies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, technical estimation, release planning, and continuous improvement practices.
Required Skills & Experience:
Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience. 10-15 years of progressive experience in software engineering, solution architecture, and enterprise application development. Proven experience leading architecture and technical delivery for large-scale enterprise, SaaS, or product engineering environments. Strong experience designing and deploying cloud-native solutions within Microsoft Azure environments. Experience working with distributed global engineering teams and Agile/Scrum methodologies. Active practical experience using AI-assisted engineering tools and workflows within software development environments is required.
Technical Skills Microsoft Development:
Advanced expertise in C#, ASP.NET Core, and modern .NET development.
Architecture:
Strong command of cloud-native and distributed systems architecture, including Microservices, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Event-Driven Architecture, and modern API design.
Azure & DevOps:
Deep Microsoft Azure expertise, including Azure Functions, containerization, CI/CD, observability, security, and Infrastructure as Code.
Data & Messaging:
Experience designing scalable data and messaging solutions using technologies such as Cosmos DB, Azure Service Bus, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.
AI-Augmented Engineering:
Hands-on experience applying AI-assisted development tools and workflows, such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, and ChatGPT, to improve engineering productivity, quality, and innovation.
