Job Description
About the Job Labsphere is currently looking to hire a Full Stack Software Developer to join our team in North Sutton, NH. In this role, we are searching for a technical expert who thrives in a cross-functional environment that promotes responsibility, independence, recognition, and the ability to implement technology quickly. This is a role with significant visibility to both internal and external stakeholders. To succeed, you should take a practical, hands-on approach to building robust, high-performance software applications that interface directly with advanced photonics, industrial, and measurement hardware. Daily tasks will include developing and maintaining applications that control and interact with Labsphere systems, understanding user and system requirements, and delivering intuitive, reliable software solutions leveraging JavaScript, TypeScript, and modern frameworks. Deliverables will mostly, but not exclusively, target deployment in a desktop environment. A key component of this role is working with our hardware abstraction layer (lsapi.dll) as the foundation for integrating and controlling Labsphere's instrumentation. You will design and implement user-facing applications that communicate with and manage hardware systems for measurement, calibration, and data acquisition. Your applications will include aspects of advanced business logic as well as data and file management specific to project needs. Additionally, this role will play a central part in the modernization of Labsphere's core software platforms. You will be tasked with reimagining and rebuilding key applications with a focus on modern user experience, improved system performance, maintainability, and long-term lifecycle sustainability. This includes evaluating legacy systems, defining updated architecture approaches, and delivering next-generation solutions that will serve as the foundation for future product development. The ideal candidate will be forward-thinking in adopting modern development tools and architectures, including AI co-development where appropriate while remaining open to collaboration and constructive discussions around usability, performance, and system design with project and organizational stakeholders. Our environment requires you to manage multiple projects and tasks while acting as a technical contributor, balancing engineering best practices with business objectives and timelines. Due to the integration with Labsphere software, this role is required to be on-site with flexibility for some remote work.
