Job Requirements Offutt AFB, NE Secret Polygraph Unspecified Career Level not specified Salary not specified Join Premium to unlock estimated salaries Job Description Apogee has an exciting new opportunity for a Software Engineer to be located remotely or in Omaha, NE, in support of the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) Weather Systems Branch (AFLCMC/ESAW) This position will provide Software Engineering Oversight and Advisory support to the Numerical Weather Models (NWM) program. The role will provide technical guidance on the design, development, and maintenance of secure software solutions, integrated via DevSecOps practices, and ensure security and compliance throughout the Software Development Life Cycle. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on critical national defense systems while working with cutting-edge DevSecOps technologies in a collaborative, mission-focused environment. This is a full-time position located at Offutt AFB, NE Responsibilities DevSecOps & Software Engineering Oversight Provide technical guidance and oversight on the design, architecture, and maintenance of secure software solutions delivered by development partners. Govern DevSecOps implementation, ensuring automated security testing, code scanning, and vulnerability management are properly integrated into CI/CD pipelines. Advise and guide agile teams in translating high-level government requirements into robust technical designs and user stories. Evaluate and review automated build, test, deployment, and infrastructure provisioning strategies to ensure alignment with industry best practices. Technical Strategy & Collaboration Apply systems engineering principles to analyze requirements, evaluate architecture feasibility, and advise government stakeholders on technical risks and tool selection. Review and refine architecture diagrams, system specifications, and high-level technical documentation. Serve as the technical liaison between government lead engineers, users, stakeholders, and development teams to ensure iterative value delivery. Participate in agile ceremonies to provide strategic engineering oversight and drive continuous DevSecOps process improvements.
