Job Description

An industry‑leading manufacturing organization is seeking a Software Engineer to join its Digital Manufacturing & Automation team. This role will focus on designing, developing, and supporting custom software solutions that connect industrial equipment to modern backend systems , enabling smarter operations, data visibility, and scalable automation solutions. This is a hands‑on technical role for someone who enjoys solving complex problems at the intersection of equipment integration, backend services, and data systems , while also acting as a subject‑matter expert within a fast‑paced, Agile development environment. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and test scalable software solutions that support manufacturing operations and customer requirements Lead and contribute to the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) , from requirements through deployment and support Build and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using C# and .
NET / .NET
Core Integrate industrial equipment and automation systems with enterprise and cloud‑based platforms Analyze complex business and operational data to improve system efficiency, reliability, and performance Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including manufacturing, engineering, IT, and external stakeholders Apply Agile, Lean, CI/CD, and software engineering best practices to deliver high‑quality, secure, and maintainable solutions Monitor system performance, troubleshoot production issues, and resolve complex defects Serve as a technical leader and mentor on large‑scale software development initiatives Ensure compliance with internal SOPs, quality standards, and safety policies Required Qualifications (Must‑Haves) Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field 5+ years of professional software development experience Strong experience with C# and .
NET / .NET
Core in backend development Proven experience building and supporting RESTful APIs and microservices Hands‑on experience with SQL Server , including T‑SQL, stored procedures, performance tuning, and transaction management Experience with equipment integration within manufacturing, automation, or industrial environments Experience working with JSON, XML, OData , and modern data exchange formats Familiarity with networking and security standards for enterprise or industrial systems Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have Experience Experience with OPC UA or other industrial communication standards Messaging or event‑driven architecture experience using RabbitMQ (or similar brokers) Exposure to IoT platforms, MES systems, or digital manufacturing applications Experience with Git, Azure DevOps, or similar CI/CD and source control tools Experience working in globally distributed or hybrid teams Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Exton, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $64.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
