As a Software Engineer I here at Honeywell, you will contribute to the design, development, and implementation of software solutions that support our aerospace technologies. You will be involved in coding, testing, and debugging software applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products. You will report directly to our Engineering Manager and you'll work out of our Clearwater, FL location on a hybrid work schedule. In this role, you will impact the success of Honeywell Aerospace Technologies by developing innovative software that enhances aircraft systems, improves safety, and supports emerging aerospace technologies. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, code, test, integrate, qualify, and document test software for Clearwater Space products, including Inertial Navigation Units (INU's) and Single Board Computers (SBC's). Complete tasks under supervision of a test software technical lead. Learn and utilize the Aerospace Engineering Process (AEP) to develop high quality test software products on time and within budgeted hours. Interact with internal customers and team members and participate in peer reviews and major design reviews. Participate in Year-over-Year (YoY) improvement projects with other department team members. Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics US citizenship with capability to acquire a Secret clearance due to contractual requirements One year of knowledge or internship in software development tools and version control systems using programming languages
WE VALUE
Strong understanding of programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python Familiarity with software development methodologies and best practices Knowledge of software development lifecycle and testing methodologies Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale Experience with embedded systems or aerospace software development Knowledge of real-time operating systems and safety-critical software standards Ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to fast-paced projects Passion for innovation and continuous learning
