Job Description
Job Summary The Exchange Migration Engineer will support the planning, design, and execution of email and data migrations during large-scale acquisitions. The role will assist with mailbox migrations from multiple external sources to managed Exchange Online tenants and support data migrations from external sources to centralized Box environments. The engineer will work with senior engineers, internal teams, and external partners to assess migration requirements, minimize business disruption, troubleshoot migration issues, and provide technical support throughout the migration lifecycle. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with migrating mailboxes from multiple external sources to one or more managed Exchange Online tenants.
- Support planning and execution of tenant-to-tenant email migrations while minimizing disruption to users and business operations.
- Collaborate with senior engineers, internal teams, and external partners to assess mailbox configurations and migration requirements.
- Use migration tools such as BitTitan MigrationWiz, ShareGate, or Quest to support mailbox migrations.
- Provide escalation support to end users during migration activities and promptly address technical issues.
- Assist with data migrations from external sources to centralized Box environments using applicable cloud file migration tools.
- Document migration procedures, configurations, troubleshooting steps, and operational processes.
- Configure and troubleshoot Outlook and Microsoft Teams clients across Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android platforms.
- Perform hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting.
- Support email security and Internet Email configurations, including DNS-related requirements.
- Explain technical procedures and migration activities in clear business terms to non-technical stakeholders.
- Support change management processes using ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence, or similar tools. Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Exchange Online, including email migrations.
- Experience with Microsoft Exchange tenant-to-tenant migrations.
- 3+ years of experience with Proofpoint Email Protection.
- Understanding of DKIM, SPF, and DMARC.
- Strong knowledge of Internet Email systems and DNS.
- Experience using BitTitan MigrationWiz for mailbox migrations to Exchange Online.
- Experience with PowerShell scripting.
- Experience using Box administration or cloud file migration tools.
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting Outlook and Microsoft Teams across Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android.
- Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience.
- Ability to explain technical procedures in business terms to non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills.
- Experience using ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence, or similar tools for change management processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent IT work experience of 3+ years.
- Must be able to work in Fort Mill, South Carolina. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ShareGate or Quest migration tools.
- Experience with Box migration tools and administration.
- Experience with Jira, Miro, and Confluence.
- Current industry certifications focused on Exchange Online, Entra ID and Security, or Box.
- Ability to solve complex technical problems through sound and methodical troubleshooting.
