This is a Nuclear Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineering role , not an IT position. The focus is nuclear plant I&C design, digital control systems, engineering changes, and plant systems. Seeking a Senior Nuclear I&C Design Engineer / Subject Matter Expert with 15+ years of experience to support engineering and design activities at a nuclear power facility. The ideal candidate will have strong nuclear I&C design, digital control systems, data acquisition, engineering changes, plant drawings, and nuclear site experience. Must be a US citizen Key Responsibilities Perform and review nuclear I&C engineering and design activities Support digital control and data acquisition systems and distributed I&C platforms Work with plant networks, operating systems, security computer systems, and operator aid computer systems Develop and review Engineering Change Basis Documents Prepare and review Equipment Database records, Electrical Elementary Diagrams, Connection Diagrams, Wiretabs, Bills of Materials, and Cable Cards Read and interpret Control Wiring Diagrams, One-Line Diagrams, and Logic Diagrams Evaluate I&C hardware, software, interfaces, and real-time control/data acquisition systems Apply nuclear industry cyber security design requirements Support engineering projects with minimal supervision Work closely with engineering and site teams to resolve technical issues and complete assigned deliverables Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering 15+ years of I&C engineering experience Nuclear power plant/site experience Strong nuclear Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) design experience Experience with digital control, data acquisition, and real-time control systems Ability to read and interpret plant engineering drawings Knowledge of I&C hardware, software, and system interfaces Understanding of cyber security requirements for nuclear systems Familiarity with computer networks and operating systems Ability to work independently with limited supervision Preferred Qualifications Nuclear Standard Design Process experience Experience preparing and reviewing engineering changes Duke Energy nuclear engineering qualifications, including: Design Change (CO-FLT-ENG-2000) Digital Engineering Change (FLT-ENG-DIGITAL-EC) Design Verification (CO-FLT-ENG-2050) Applicability Determination Preparer (CO-FLT-AD) 50.59 Screener (CO-FLT-50.59-SCR) Previous nuclear experience
