Description of Position Reliable MicroSystems is seeking a Software Architect who is ready to take ownership of architecture decisions for commercially deployed customer-facing software. This role blends architecture leadership, hands-on full stack development, and team mentorship in a highly collaborative environment. You'll help shape the technical direction of our products while still contributing directly to the codebase and other projects within the company. Basic Qualifications BS degree in relevant field with 5+ years experience or MS degree in relevant field with 3+ years experience US Citizen Required Skills Experience designing and delivering commercial or customer-facing software Deep understanding of programming fundamentals, modern development practices, and scalable architecture patterns in .NET. Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering disciplines Experience working within a team environment and comfortable giving and receiving feedback Enthusiasm for hands-on development, prototyping, and exploring unconventional or hybrid technology stacks Desired Skills Prior work in small companies or startups Previous leadership over a software team Familiarity with Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools Experience with UI design Experience with CI/CD practices Key Responsibilities Architecture leadership and Technical decision making across backend, frontend, infrastructure, and integration layers for commercially deployed scientific applications Defining code quality and engineering standards across the development team Individual contributor work alongside architectural responsibilities High complexity engineering work as directed by project or program leadership Conduct architectural and code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices, architectural consistency, and long-term maintainability Ensure that assigned tasks are completed correctly, efficiently, and on schedule Train, mentor, and oversee the activities of the development team As needed, assist in other areas of the company, including data analysis, simulation and modeling, and various software efforts.
