Job Description

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Mainframe COBOL Developer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC or Plano, TX. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

This role is critical to sustain operations across a Mainframe Payments platform, which supports essential functions for high value payment, deposit, and treasury services. This position will supportplex, high-volume environments requiring continuous support to mitigate coverage gaps and single point of failure risks.

Responsibilities:

Take ownership of escalations and perform troubleshooting, analysis, research, and resolution using advanced query and programming skills

Handle Problem/Incident Management, Operational Readiness, Application Monitoring, and Service Analytics and Reporting

Manage Production Governance, Triage, Associate Support, and Change Configuration Management

Solve production down situations under SLA deadlines, including root cause analysis and problem resolution follow-up

Proactively identify, escalate, and address project issues and risks

Coordinate with offshore/onshore teams and delegate work

Facilitate meetings and moderate discussions

Requirements:

8+ years of hands-on experience as a Mainframe COBOL developer

Proficiency in

COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, CICS, IMS DB/DC, MQ

Series, and Easytrieve

Experience in Production Support, change management, and the use of incident management tools

Experience with Endeavor and IBM problem determination tools such as File Manager and Fault Analyzer

Experience with TSO, REXX, Mark

IV, TWS, CA7, BMC

utilities, and release management tools

Knowledge of dump reading and transmission protocols (NDM, FTP)

Experience with application support processes including incident management, release management, and risk governance

Experience with SQL Database query language, Splunk, and other monitoring tool exposure

Excellent problem-solving skills and entrepreneurial attitude

Excellent verbal and writtenmunication skills
