division is currently seeking a Application Engineer in Austin, TX, Grapevine, TX, Houstin TX, or San Antonio, TX. What you'll do: The Application Engineer is a consultative, technical sales professional responsible for supporting electrical consultants (power system designers) and in-house engineering staff at end user customers with critical power infrastructure.These end users include:
data centers (enterprise data centers, multi-tenant tata centers), and customers within the commercial, institutional, government, and hyperscale markets. An application engineer must possess both strong technical and commercial skills and be experienced in electrical power distribution, power quality, and control. This position is responsible for working with electrical consultants and specifying engineers to assist in the layout and specification of critical power systems, medium voltage, and low voltage power distribution systems. This position will also be responsible for providing technical product and application leadership for external clients, as well as technical mentoring for Eaton sales engineers and account managers.In this function you will:
- Support electrical engineers at the consulting firms serving the Gulf Region, aiding technical design and positioning Eaton related products in a preferred position
- Act as the primary point of contact for technical and engineering support for the in-house engineering staff and design teams at the assigned customer account base
- Serve as a technical expert within the Gulf Region Mission Critical team, offering comprehensive support to Sales engineers and account managers for Eaton's full portfolio, including ARS and CPS products
- Aid the Gulf Region Mission Critical team on large bids including submittals drawings, technical interpretation, and interfacing with the consultant and owner
- Facilitate technical collaboration between assigned customer base and Eaton's product lines, supporting product innovation and providing design recommendations based on customer needs
- Conduct product seminars and training on Eaton products and solutions at targeted consultant firms and key end customers
- Provide mentoring and training to Gulf Region Sales Engineers across multiple verticals, and other employees within and outside of the NAS organization
Qualifications:
Required (Basic)Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum seven (7) years of electrical sales/marketing and/or engineering experience
- Possess a valid driver's license
- Ability to travel 25% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
- A Professional Engineer (PE) License
- LEED AP certification
- Extensive electrical experience
- Knowledge of Eaton electrical products, services and competitors
Skills:
Position Criteria:
- Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
- Technical knowledge regarding the application of critical power solutions, power distribution products including medium and low voltage switchgear, panelboards and switchboards, protective relaying and busway
- Experience in working with products and applications such as three-phase UPS systems, power distribution units, static transfer switches, remote power panels, power monitoring products (including metering and software), and power control products.
- Strategic understanding of the U.S. power distribution and data center market
- Ability to write technical specifications for new projects in a manner that will put Eaton in an advantageous position when the project is bid
- Ability to interface with electrical consultant principals and lead electrical engineers, as well as facility engineers at data centers
- Problem solving skills
- Effective communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of an organization, including consultant or end user organizations
- Presentation and training skills - Initiative and self-management skills
- Proven capability to find creative solutions to solve complex technical application problems
- Value selling experience
