About the Role This is a hands-on product engineering role, not an enterprise IT, infrastructure, governance or consulting architecture position. The architect will work directly with software, hardware and product teams to design and improve connected products. We're looking for an experienced Research & Development Architect to help shape the future of our products and technology. This is a senior technical role focused on software architecture, system design, product innovation, and emerging technologies. You'll work closely with engineering leadership to solve complex technical challenges, improve existing products, and help define the roadmap for future development. If you enjoy building scalable solutions, connecting software and hardware, leveraging AI and automation, and influencing technical direction, we'd love to talk. What You'll Do Design scalable software and system architecture for current and future products. Evaluate existing products and recommend architectural improvements. Lead technical discussions involving software, APIs, cloud technologies, data, and system integration. Develop proof-of-concept solutions and evaluate emerging technologies. Drive innovation through AI, automation, and modern development practices. Collaborate with software, hardware, testing, and product engineering teams. Troubleshoot complex technical issues and perform root-cause analysis. Mentor engineers through architecture reviews and technical leadership. Influence the long-term technical direction of our products. What We're Looking For Demonstrated experience personally architecting commercial products or connected systems—not solely enterprise IT platforms, internal business applications or customer implementations. 10+ years of software engineering, systems engineering, or product development experience. 5+ years of software architecture, systems architecture, or senior technical leadership experience. Experience as a Software Architect, Systems Architect, Technical Lead, Staff Engineer, or similar senior technical professional. Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, and object-oriented programming. Experience with C++, C#, Python, Java, or similar programming languages. Experience designing complex systems involving software, APIs, databases, cloud technologies, or system integrations. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering teams. Ability to evaluate new technologies and recommend practical solutions. Passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and solving difficult technical challenges. Preferred Experience Embedded systems, IoT, or connected products Cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure REST APIs and backend services SQL and database design AI-assisted development tools DevOps and CI/CD Automated testing Bluetooth, cellular, CAN, USB, serial communications, MQTT, or similar communication protocols Why Join Us?
