About the Role This is a hands-on product engineering role, not an enterprise IT, infrastructure, governance or consulting architecture position. The architect will work directly with software, hardware and product teams to design and improve connected products. We're looking for an experienced Research & Development Architect to help shape the future of our products and technology. This is a senior technical role focused on software architecture, system design, product innovation, and emerging technologies. You'll work closely with engineering leadership to solve complex technical challenges, improve existing products, and help define the roadmap for future development. What You'll Do Design scalable software and system architecture for current and future products. Evaluate existing products and recommend architectural improvements. What We're Looking For Demonstrated experience personally architecting commercial products or connected systems—not solely enterprise IT platforms, internal business applications or customer implementations. 10+ years of software engineering, systems engineering, or product development experience. 5+ years of software architecture, systems architecture, or senior technical leadership experience. Experience as a Software Architect, Systems Architect, Technical Lead, Staff Engineer, or similar senior technical professional. Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, and object-oriented programming. Experience with C++, C#, Python, Java, or similar programming languages. Experience designing complex systems involving software, APIs, databases, cloud technologies, or system integrations. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering teams. Ability to evaluate new technologies and recommend practical solutions. Passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and solving difficult technical challenges.
