Principal Solution Architect, AI Transformation Microsoft $140,500.00

Overview Serve as the senior technical leader for the organization's most complex and strategically important AI transformations. You will partner with customer executives and Microsoft leadership to define multi-year transformation direction, align business and technology portfolios, and govern architecture across multiple programs and solution domains. You will anticipate systemic risks, resolve ambiguity, influence product and delivery strategy, and establish repeatable approaches that scale across customers and the broader organization. Responsibilities Gather insights across executive and technical stakeholders and anticipate industry trends to shape long-term AI transformation strategy.

Lead architecture and technical governance across multiple large, complex AI programs, platforms, and customer organizations.

Build realistically costed solution approaches with traceability across requirements, constraints, decisions, risks, and trade-offs.

Establish enterprise standards for secure agentic systems, data and knowledge grounding, evaluation, observability, resiliency, Responsible AI, and operational readiness.

Translate business objectives into executable delivery strategies, technical roadmaps, and scalable solution architectures while managing risk, resources, and stakeholder expectations.

Jointly lead implementation quality and governance across project, account, engineering, and customer teams.

Anticipate and resolve critical business and technical blockers, orchestrating specialists and disparate teams into a durable plan of action.

Act as the technical conscience for customers and Microsoft, influencing product roadmaps, reusable intellectual property, and industry thought leadership. Qualifications Required/minimum qualifications Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field AND 10+ years experience in technology solutions, practice development, architecture, consulting, and/or technology domain (e.g. AI Engineering)

OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field AND 12+ years experience in technology solutions, practice development, architecture, consulting, and/or technology domain (e.g. AI Engineering)

OR equivalent experience.

4+ years managing multiple, complex projects or portfolios.

2+ years experience leading blended, multidisciplinary teams. Preferred qualifications Experience leading highly complex enterprise architecture across multiple programs, platforms, customer stakeholders, and delivery teams.

Demonstrated executive influence, customer advocacy, risk governance, and resolution of complex escalations.

Technical or Professional Certification in the relevant domain.

Experience designing and implementing Generative AI and agentic AI solutions using Azure AI Foundry, agentic frameworks, RAG architectures, and orchestration patterns. Solution Architecture IC6

  • The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $140,500
  • $268,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $175,900
  • $288,000 per year.
