• Develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications with a focus on multithreading and performance optimization
• Integrate and troubleshoot software systems within Linux/Unix environments
• Refactor legacy codebases to improve system reliability and scalability
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust software solutions
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle using Agile methodologies
• Ensure software compliance with Department of Defense standards and security protocols Required Skills and Experience
• B.S. degree in Computer Science, Software/Computer/Electrical Engineering, or related STEM field
• 2+ years of hands-on Java development, including multithreading
• Strong Linux/Unix development, integration, and troubleshooting background
• Proficient in software integration, testing, and refactoring
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain DoD Secret clearance (required)
• Experience with Bash scripting Preferred Skills
• Advanced Java multithreading proficiency
• Database experience with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or similar
• Familiarity with inter-process messaging (gRPC, Artemis)
• UI development using JavaFX or Swing
• Knowledge of reactive programming (RxJava, Kotlin Coroutines, Flow)
• Performance-tuning tools (JVisualVM, JConsole, JProfiler)
• Containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Agile full-lifecycle development experience
