Developer-Full Stack SeniorLocation:
McLean, Virginia (Onsite) Role OverviewAn opportunity is available to join a team that supports multiple IT applications built on various technologies with continuous modernization in progress. Within the Corporate Technologies - Finance Delivery Services organization, this is a multi-skilled agile team that works to discover new opportunities to implement innovative, automated, and cost-efficient solutions. Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop scalable and reliable data solutions to move data across systems from multiple sources in real time as well as batch modes.
Identify and deliver innovative and automation solutions in data engineering, including technology implementations using an Agile construct.
While implementing technical solutions using modern cloud solutions, support residual legacy applications.
Understand business requirements and establish partnerships with stakeholders, including Product Owners and Scrum Masters.
Learn new and legacy technologies and paradigms to deploy solutions.
Utilize expertise in models that leverage the newest data sources, technologies, and tools, such as Python, Hadoop, Spark, and AWS.Support applications, including providing fixes to production defects and making enhancements.
Evaluate defects, investigate causes, and develop solutions to address them.
Provide production support and communicate clearly on the resolution of incidents.
Required QualificationsEducation:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent working experience is required.
Experience:
This role requires 5+ years of experience in delivering solutions using the Software Development Life Cycle. Candidates must have 5+ years of relevant development experience with hands-on experience in Python and PySpark. Experience with legacy code and exposure to modernization projects is also required. Additionally, 3+ years of experience working with complex SQL queries and a Unix environment is needed.
Technical Skills:
Required skills include Python, PySpark, AWS (S3, Glue, EMR, Data lake, Delta Lake), SQL, and Unix. Preferred QualificationsAbility to lead a team of junior developers.
