Job Description
Our client, a Aerospace And Defense company, is looking for a Design and Analysis Engineer 3 for their Seattle, WA location.
Responsibilities:
Work with a team of engineers to design, architect, develop, and support real-time data management solutions for storing, streaming, processing, and visualizing high-throughput sensor data
Deliver solutions that span the entire software development lifecycle, from design to production, and multiple deployment paradigms including CLI tools, native (Windows), and web applications
Interface with data acquisition hardware (transducers, DAQ devices) to pull and process data
Design and implement intuitive user experiences for data visualization and analysis
Build clean, welltested APIs and streaming pipelines for highthroughput timeseries data
Collaborate directly with customers and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
Provide technical leadership through code reviews, mentorship, architecture design,
Build and maintain deployment, CI/CD, observability, and database infrastructure
Help define product roadmap and priorities
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification.
- Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry
- 2+ years of experience working with RealTime Operating Systems
- 2+ years of experience with C/C++ software for realtime embedded systems
- 2+ years of experience with Application Development
- Experience in experimental data acquisition, instrumentation, and analysis.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
7 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong proficiency in C/C++ or C# (or similar)
Experience with native application development for Windows (C# and .NET, C++ and Qt, or similar)
Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite, or similar)
Proficient in modern version control systems (Git, GitLab, or similar)
Proficient with containerization technologies (Docker or similar)
Proficient in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, MATLAB, or other programming languages
Experience with data acquisition and processing systems (transducers, control systems, IoT devices, DAQ hardware, or similar)
Comfortable developing and operating on Windows and Linux environments
Experience with modern testing practices and tools (unit testing, TDD, etc.) Familiar with continuous integration and deployment platforms (GitLab CI, CircleCI, GitHub Actions, or similar)
Experience with timeseries file formats (HDF5, TDMS, or similar)
Experience with native data visualization libraries
