Position Overview We are seeking a technically driven and customer-focused Applications & Sales Engineer to serve as a key technical liaison between customers, sales, engineering, manufacturing, quality, and suppliers. This position combines application engineering, technical sales, and project coordination , providing the opportunity to support projects from initial customer discussions and proposal development through fabrication and final delivery. The ideal candidate is comfortable interpreting technical requirements, developing practical and code-compliant solutions, and managing multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Applications Engineering & Technical Sales Serve as the primary technical contact throughout the proposal, bidding, and contract execution process. Review customer specifications, process conditions, drawings, and other technical requirements to develop compliant solutions and proposals. Partner with the sales team on technical scoping, preliminary layouts, feasibility reviews, and customer requirements. Prepare and present technical proposals, clarifications, and submittals. Participate in customer meetings and support commercial and contract negotiations. Provide technical guidance to customers while identifying solutions that align with company capabilities and manufacturing requirements. Project Execution & Coordination Support projects from order award through completion and delivery. Coordinate activities between engineering, production, quality, purchasing, vendors, and customers. Develop and maintain project schedules, track key milestones, and monitor critical path activities. Identify and address technical, scheduling, or production concerns before they impact project commitments. Maintain consistent communication with customers and internal teams to ensure projects remain on schedule and meet expectations. Vendor & Procurement Support Work with suppliers and fabricators to support the sourcing of materials, forgings, vessel heads, and other components. Review vendor quotations, drawings, and technical submittals for compliance with project requirements. Provide technical support throughout the procurement process. Help ensure purchased materials and components meet quality, technical, cost, and schedule requirements. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field. 3-5 years of experience in application engineering, project engineering, technical sales, or a similar role within pressure vessel, heat exchanger, or heavy industrial fabrication. Strong preference for candidates with ASME Section VIII, Division 1 knowledge and experience in heavy industrial fabrication. Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on efficiency, continuous improvement, and practical solutions. Ability to read, interpret, and prepare technical drawings; AutoCAD 2D experience preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with strong attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with customers, engineering, production, quality, and vendors. Experience with vendor coordination, procurement, and contract negotiations. Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a deadline-driven manufacturing environment. Why Join the Team?
