Mechanical Engineer Job DescriptionPosition Title:
Mechanical Engineer Position Summary The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and improving mechanical systems, components, and manufacturing processes. This role works closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, quality, manufacturing, and suppliers to ensure products meet performance, reliability, quality, safety, and cost objectives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities + Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using CAD software. + Create and maintain engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation. + Conduct engineering analyses, calculations, and simulations to validate designs. + Support prototype development, testing, and product validation activities. + Identify and implement design improvements to enhance product performance, manufacturability, quality, and cost efficiency. + Collaborate with manufacturing teams to troubleshoot production issues and develop corrective actions. + Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives. + Work with suppliers and vendors on component selection, qualification, and technical problem-solving. + Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, codes, regulations, and company procedures. + Develop and execute testing plans and evaluate test results. + Assist with project planning, scheduling, and execution to meet project milestones and business objectives. + Support product launches, engineering change requests, and ongoing product maintenance. + Prepare technical reports, presentations, and engineering recommendations. Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline. + 2+ years of engineering experience preferred (experience requirements may vary based on level). + Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD, CATIA, or similar design tools. + Knowledge of mechanical design principles, manufacturing processes, and material properties. + Experience with engineering analysis, testing, and problem-solving methodologies. + Understanding of GD&T, engineering drawings, and technical documentation. + Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills. + Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. + Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Berlin, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
