Job Description Responsibilities Lead and mentor high-performing software engineers and architects, supporting technical growth, career development, and engineering excellence. Define and execute architecture strategy, technology roadmaps, and modernization initiatives for credit card processing platforms. Drive transformation of legacy/mainframe-based payment systems to cloud-native, microservices-based architectures. Establish architecture standards, governance practices, solution review processes, and engineering best practices. Partner with Product, Infrastructure, Security, Operations, and Risk teams to deliver scalable, resilient, and compliant payment solutions. Lead multiple Agile Scrum teams, ensuring alignment of priorities, execution, and delivery of business value. Guide solution architecture decisions, API strategies, integration patterns, observability, and reliability engineering practices. Champion DevSecOps, CI/CD automation, cloud adoption, and engineering operational excellence. Manage technical risks, platform resiliency, security requirements, and regulatory compliance for payment systems. Influence cross-functional stakeholders and senior leadership on technology investments, modernization strategies, and architectural direction. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience Six to eight years of relevant technical experience Five or more years of leading a software engineering team Preferred Skills/Experience Engineering leadership experience managing technical teams. Experience leading architecture, engineering strategy, and large-scale technology delivery initiatives. Strong experience delivering complex enterprise applications in Agile environments. Credit card processing, payments, transaction processin g, authorization, clearing, settlement, or issuer platforms. Mainframe modernization experience , including migration of legacy applications to cloud-native solutions. Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and cloud migration strategies. Microservices architecture, API design, event-driven systems, and distributed applications. Java, Spring Boot, Kubernetes, OpenShift, containerization, and modern application frameworks. Enterprise architecture governance, solution design, platform engineering, and technical roadmapping. DevSecOps, CI/CD automation, observability, monitoring, resiliency, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE). Experience building and leading teams transitioning from mainframe technologies to cloud-based architectures. Strong knowledge of Agile, Scrum, SAFe, engineering delivery practices, and technology transformation programs. Exceptional leadership, stakeholder management, communication, coaching, and organizational influence skills.
