Software Development Manager (Sign-On Bonus Available)
Location:
Camden, NJ Competitive Salary and Benefits Offered Must be a US Citizen Relocation Assistance Provided Our Space Mission Systems company is in need of a seasoned Software Development Manager to oversee the creation of crucial software for communication and service-oriented systems. The chosen candidate will work closely with various engineering teams, mentor engineers, assist with recruitment and performance evaluations, and provide technical insight for proposals and engineering plans. Responsibilities include managing software development from start to finish, including requirements analysis, architecture, design, implementation, integration, and testing. This role involves leading a team of software engineers to ensure the delivery of top-notch software that aligns with budget, timeline, and technical objectives. Additionally, the successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing and maintaining VoIP and real-time communications applications using SIP-based call control and frameworks like PJSIP or PJMEDIA.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and guide a team of software engineers to ensure high-quality software is delivered on time and within budget. Direct the development of RESTful APIs and service-based architectures, as well as Java enterprise applications deployed on JBoss or similar platforms. Oversee software deployment and maintenance on Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems, including software packaging and distribution. Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and architecture evaluations for service-based, VoIP, and application-level software systems.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree with at least 9 years of relevant experience. Master's Degree with a minimum of 7 years of related experience. Alternatively, a total of 13 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree. Prior experience in a senior engineering, technical lead, or informal leadership position Proven track record of designing, developing, or integrating RESTful services in production environments. Active DoD Secret security clearance Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across different disciplines and projects. Familiarity with proposal development, cost estimation, or EVMS-driven programs. Experience in Agile or hybrid Agile development settings.
