Job Description:
A well-established manufacturer in the renewable energy industry is seeking a Software Engineering Manager in the Toledo, Ohio area to lead the strategy, architecture, and delivery of global software solutions supporting Manufacturing and adjacent business functions.
Responsibilities:
Lead global software architecture, development, engineering standards, and technical governance. Manage, mentor, and develop Software Engineering teams and drive a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Translate business needs into enterprise software solutions, roadmaps, and technical strategies. Drive adoption of emerging technologies, including AI, AI Assistants, LLMs, and automation. Lead technology evaluations, COTS/vendor selection, RFPs, and global development partnerships. Manage complex software programs, budgets, portfolios, and Agile/Scrum delivery. Partner with global business and technology teams to deliver solutions that improve reliability, reduce cost, and accelerate business value.
Candidates Must Have:
6+ years of software development experience with 3+ years of technical leadership, supervision, or management Experience from a manufacturing setting Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience Strong expertise in software architecture, application development, SQL/databases, testing, and modern development practices Understanding of AI for the use of improving manufacturing systems Experience with C#/.NET and SQL Server preferred; NoSQL, messaging, OPC, and industrial/manufacturing technologies highly desired Strong business analysis, vendor management, project/portfolio management, and Agile/Scrum experience
