You will guide engineers in delivering robust, scalable solutions across our commerce platform, driving improvements that directly enhance how our customers shop, buy, and engage with us every day. This position involves close collaboration with cross-functional partners, including Product and ML, and managing integrations with our internal systems to keep operations running seamlessly as the business grows. This role is ideal for a technical leader with strong distributed-systems depth and a track record of developing engineers, who is excited by the challenge of building at e-commerce scale. What You Get To Do Every Day You will lead and mentor a team of talented software engineers in designing and implementing high-quality software solutions. Lead the engineering efforts in our e-commerce platform, focusing on scalability, user experience, and international expansion strategies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, ML team, and marketing, to develop and implement international capabilities to buyers. Oversee the development and maintenance of our core systems built on Ruby on Rails and Elixir, ensuring scalability, performance, and security. Mentor and manage a team of engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation. Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement, encouraging team members to explore new technologies and practices. Work cross-functionally with various teams to align engineering activities with broader company objectives.
What You Bring To The Role Minimum Requirements:
Proven track record in managing and scaling distributed, public cloud-native systems and services. Hands-on experience in collaborating with machine learning teams. Strong understanding of relational database systems (MySQL or PostgreSQL preferred). Excellent leadership skills with the ability to mentor and inspire a team of engineers. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Strong system design fundamentals and some real people-management experience, with a track record of helping engineers level up.
Preferred Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Extensive experience in Ruby on Rails development and architecture. Experience in working on and improving performance of Jamstack based applications. Experience with CRMs such as Salesforce. Experience with Elixir or a willingness to learn and incorporate it into our tech stack. Experience with localization / internationalization and cross-border systems in larger organizations. The expected salary range for this role is $194,499.00-$216,109.00. To determine starting pay we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location and an evaluation of a candidate's skills, experience, market demands, and internal parity. Additionally, salary is just one component of TRR's total rewards package. Depending on role, employees may also be eligible for a bonus program, incentive pay and benefits.
