Engineering Manager - Global Development Teams

As we scale our global engineering presence, we're hiring an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and unify three development teams based in India. You'll be the critical bridge between our India engineering org and our US leadership — driving delivery, culture, and technical excellence across time zones. What You'll Own Directly manage and mentor multiple India-based development teams across their day-to-day operations, growth, and delivery Serve as the primary point of contact between India teams and US engineering leadership, product, and stakeholders Own sprint planning, stand-ups, and delivery cadences that maximize overlap with US teams Drive accountability and output — tracking velocity, removing blockers, and keeping all three teams aligned to roadmap priorities Lead hiring, onboarding, and performance management for India engineering staff Ensure consistent adoption of engineering standards: code quality, PR reviews, testing, and CI/CD practices Drive a unified culture of collaboration, accountability, and high performance across all India teams — establishing shared rituals, clear delivery standards, and team-level KPIs that reflect both output quality and velocity Coordinate architecture discussions and technical decisions with US-based Tech Leads Foster a high-trust, outcome-driven culture that thrives across a distributed environment This position reports directly to VP of Engineering What You Bring 8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3+ years in an engineering management or team lead role Proven track record managing multiple teams simultaneously in a distributed or offshore/nearshore model Strong technical foundation in the Nexio stack: Node.js, modern JavaScript/TypeScript React (frontend familiarity) Python AWS - Lambda, Dynamo

Gateway Git and modern CI/CD workflows Deep understanding of SaaS product development and agile delivery practices Experience working with payment systems or fintech platforms (Stripe, Plaid, PCI compliance) is a strong asset Excellent communication skills — written and verbal — for async-first and real-time collaboration across time zones Comfortable managing teams remotely across a significant time zone gap Bonus Points Familiarity with OAuth2, JWT, SSO, or auth service architecture Experience with serverless infrastructure and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Serverless Framework) Exposure to AI/ML tooling or automation pipelines Background scaling engineering teams in high-growth startup environments Experience with observability tooling and structured logging practices Time Zone & Collaboration Model This role is the connective tissue between our Orem office and our India-based teams. Success depends on maintaining meaningful, structured overlap with both sides.

With India Teams:

You will align your schedule to cover the end of the India workday — attending stand-ups, unblocking engineers, and ensuring priorities are clearly set for their next workday. This requires availability during early morning hours Mountain Time on a regular basis.

With Orem Teams:

You will be present in the Orem office during core US business hours to collaborate with product, engineering leadership, and US-based Tech Leads — translating priorities into clear direction for India teams and surfacing blockers or delivery updates in real time. You will own the design of this collaboration rhythm, creating a handoff and communication cadence that keeps all teams aligned, reduces idle time, and maximizes throughput across the full workday.
