About the Team The Agent Platform team delivers a new AI focused experience for Workday customers, and most importantly their employees. We are at the forefront of Workday's AI & Agentic initiatives with the objective to deliver and integrate Agentic capabilities across the entire Workday platform, including the widespread adoption and AI powered Assist features, rapid creation and deployment of Workday-native AI Agents, and the delivery of Workday's Agent System of Record. The Agent System of Record (ASOR) platform brings the Human and Digital Workforce experience together. Customers can securely deploy, extend, manage, and measure Workday-delivered agents, as well as partner-built and 3rd party agents all in the Agent Analytics Hub. ASOR is responsible for designing a highly configurable agent lifecycle for all types of agents (Workday Built, Third Party, and Managed Agents) with robust analytics and features for Agent Administrators. We also contribute to significant agentic initiatives and features at Workday such as Ambient & Delegate runtime design, Agents as MCP Tools, and more! About the Role We are seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to help lead our growing Workday Agent System of Record (ASOR) team. In this role, you will manage two scrum teams responsible for delivering core, critical features that power Workday's agentic AI roadmap. You will work closely with Product Managers, Functional Architects, cross-functional engineering partners, and key external partners to design and build the foundational Agent System of Record platform. Beyond technical execution, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a high-trust engineering culture, mentoring engineers, and instilling strong operational practices. In this role, your responsibilities include: Team Leadership & Talent Development Manage and grow a team of 7-8 engineers working across front-end (React), Workday proprietary technology (XO), and various back-end services across our AI Platform. Mentor and guide engineers through career development, cultivating a strong culture of continuous feedback, trust, accountability, and psychological safety. Execution & Strategy Take end-to-end ownership of engineering delivery, execution quality, and technical outcomes for features across the ASOR platform. Define execution strategies, sprint cadence, and team operating models to optimize velocity and cross-functional collaboration. Product & Partner Collaboration Partner closely with Product Managers and Functional Architects to align on product vision, shape the strategic roadmap, and allocate engineering resources effectively. Drive cross-team alignment and technical integration across internal platform teams and external strategic partners. About You Basic Qualifications 3+ years experience directly managing and leading software development engineering teams, fostering high-performing and engaged teams focused on delivering high-quality software 8+ years experience in software development engineering, including architecting, building, and scaling robust and efficient software systems. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience. Other Qualifications Bachelor or Master's degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or a related field or equivalent professional experience. Familiarity of LLMs and their strengths, limitations in personal or work use
