Job Description

A Sr. Technical Leader (STL) job is currently available through Belcan leading software engineering projects and/or people. To be considered for this role, you will have a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or a related field and at least 2 years of relevant experience. The STL is responsible for coordinating and executing software engineering projects as well as operating as a home manager for multiple engineers. With flexibility in the role, depending on the applicant's experience and career path interests, activities may include a mix of heads-down engineering work, project leadership, and development of direct reports. The ideal candidate is an organized, proactive leader with strong communication and coordination skills and sound engineering judgement. Experience working in aerospace or defense software is highly desirable. Full-time on-site work in the Platteville, WI office is desired.
Job Duties:
Perform software engineering tasks or lead small teams in software engineering projects. Develop and support direct reports including recruiting support for new engineers. Project management activities including operating as a customer interface, status reporting, and monitoring of project objectives, schedule, and budget. Support proposal development, project planning, and forecasting as required. Support organizational improvement activities.
Required Qualifications:
Experience with software development and verification. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to lead, develop, and advocate for other engineers. Desire to cultivate an innovative, team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
Experience with aerospace embedded, real-time, safety-critical software development and verification including with civil certification requirements; DO-178C. Experience with enterprise software and DevOps (CI/CD, pipelines, AWS, SQL, integrating business tools). Project leadership and customer interface experience. Demonstrated skills for team cultivation; Agile Scrum experience. Experience integrating Artificial Intelligence tools and methods into engineering tasks. Familiarity with quality management systems and engineering processes and standards. We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary range of $80,000 to $115,000 . Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
