To support our shift to a more agile and innovative way of working, we are looking for a Senior QA Engineer. This role is critical to ensuring that our technical teams deliver high-quality solutions that align with our core values of excellence and customer focus. We need someone who can lead by example and bring their expertise to the table to help us enhance our testing capabilities and ensure the highest standards of quality. We have opportunities available across both our Auckland CBD office and Auckland Airport Campus. Key Responsibilities Use agile and lean methods (e.g. KANBAN, SCRUM, etc.) and get involved with all parts of the development process from inception through to release. Design, develop and execute new automation scenarios from functional and technical requirements and change requests. Maintain and monitor existing automation and regression testing, including ongoing refactoring of test suites. Apply software engineering principles to test engineering to ensure maximum ongoing value of implemented test suites. Work with technical teams (architects, software engineers, QA's and BA's) to diagnose issues and enhance the software design to best facilitate automation. Actively contribute to the strategic direction and technical roadmap of our software automation toolset and automated testing processes. Ensure both manual and automated tests adhere to testing processes, standards, and guidelines. Facilitate user acceptance testing to ensure that all requirements, features, or stories have been fully tested and accepted by the stakeholders prior to deployment. Provide coaching and mentoring to QA engineers. Work Experience 5+ years experience as a Senior QA Automation within a technology business environment. Significant experience with testing of software and practical experience developing a test strategy within a complex technology environment. Strong hands-on experience with Java automation frameworks, CI/CD, test-driven development, and testing technologies. Strong experience in test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Rest Assured, JUnit, TestNG). Experience using testing, continuous integration and delivery toolsets to obtain fast quality states. Experience in being a technical mentor to others. Experience in working effectively and collaboratively across software product team disciplines and intra-team dependencies. Solid knowledge of current quality assurance methodologies, best practices, and toolsets. Solid knowledge of automation models and approaches. In-depth understanding of SDLC and first-hand experience within an Agile team. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
