Job Description
Job Description We're looking for an engineer to design, build, and run custom test infrastructure for validating RTOS controller hardware including Python-based fault injection tooling, network stack stress/error injection, and IO validation frameworks. This role is hands-on across both software (test framework/tooling) and hardware (bench setup, custom fault injection interfaces). The candidates will own validation for OTA at a hardware level as well as our onboard RTOS part of the IVI system.

Responsibilities:
Design and build Python-based test tools for CAN/CAN FD and Automotive Ethernet stack stress testing: malformed frames, flooding, bus-off scenarios, error injection Develop fault injection capability using internal/custom hardware (relay boards, GPIO controllers, custom PCBs) driven by Python control software Build IO validation frameworks to verify digital/analog IO behavior across voltage, timing, and load conditions Create traffic monitoring/logging tools to capture and analyze bus and network activity during stress and soak tests Architect reusable, maintainable test frameworks (device abstraction, structured test cases, automated reporting) Integrate test suites into CI pipelines for regression testing against various hardware and software pedigrees Debug and root-cause failures across hardware, firmware, and network layers Collaborate with hardware/firmware teams on new fault injection and monitoring tool requirements We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. Bachelor's in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience Strong Python skills. Comfortable building tools/frameworks, not just scripts Hands-on experience with python-can, SocketCAN, or equivalent CAN scripting Experience with Ethernet packet crafting/analysis (scapy, raw sockets, Wireshark) Understanding of CAN/CAN FD and Automotive Ethernet at the protocol/frame level Experience building or integrating with custom test hardware (relays, GPIO, USB/serial-controlled instruments) Familiarity with UDS diagnostics and DTC behavior Experience with SOME/IP, DoIP PyVISA/SCPI instrument control experience pytest or similar framework experience for structured test authoring Basic embedded/firmware background (helps with root-causing IO and timing issues) CI/CD pipeline experience for hardware test automation Prior experience at a Tier 1 supplier, OEM, or embedded test tooling companyBenefits
