Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an Automation Developer with a development-heavy background to build software automation supporting out-of-home Wi-Fi and public hotspot environments. The role will work across multiple initiatives involving AAA policy/code, Nokia WAG, access points, wireless controllers, and production deployment automation. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on scripting and software development experience, particularly with Python, Bash, Ansible, and Terraform, along with strong Linux systems administration and troubleshooting skills. The role also requires practical database experience and a willingness to use approved AI tools to support development, scripting, and troubleshooting while critically evaluating and validating AI-generated output. Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain automation solutions, scripts, playbooks, and tooling to reduce manual operations work and errors in methods of procedure.
  • Build and support automation for out-of-home Wi-Fi, public hotspots, AAA policy/code, Nokia WAG, access points, wireless controllers, and production deployments.
  • Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks and roles and Terraform modules, providers, and state management configurations.
  • Perform Linux systems administration and troubleshooting to support automation solutions in Red Hat and related environments.
  • Work with Cassandra and Oracle databases for querying, basic administration, and operational support.
  • Collaborate across multiple initiatives and projects while supporting development and automation priorities.
  • Use AI tools to assist with development, scripting, and troubleshooting while testing, reviewing, and validating generated output. Required Qualifications
  • 3-7 years of experience in software development and automation, with a development-heavy background.
  • Strong hands-on software development and scripting experience using Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages.
  • Demonstrated ability to build automation solutions rather than primarily execute QA test cycles.
  • Strong working knowledge of Linux systems administration and troubleshooting, including Red Hat environments.
  • Proven experience with Ansible, including writing, structuring, and maintaining playbooks and roles.
  • Proven experience with Terraform, including modules, providers, and state management.
  • Practical experience with Cassandra and Oracle, including querying, basic administration, and operational support.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and systems engineering skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple projects and initiatives. Preferred Qualifications
  • General networking knowledge, particularly IPv4 and IPv6 addressing.
  • Familiarity with Wi-Fi and public hotspot environments.
  • Familiarity with AAA and Nokia WAG.
  • Experience with Nokia proprietary AAA language, referred to in the source as "TAL" and inconsistently as "DAL"; the exact terminology should be confirmed.
  • General systems engineering knowledge.
  • Practical experience using AI and prompting tools to support software development, scripting, or troubleshooting.
  • Ability to critically evaluate, test, and validate AI-generated output rather than relying on it without verification.
  • Experience working across multiple projects and initiatives in a development and automation environment.
