The selected candidate must be comfortable working onsite one day per week in Washington, DC or Columbia, MD. Therefore, they must be local to the DMV. Overview & Responsibilities Work with a leading healthcare insurance provider in the DMV area to revolutionize their testing ecosystem. We are looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) who is passionate about AI and automation. In this role, you will help the team transition into the "AI Era" by building intelligent, self-healing test frameworks. This is a high-impact position where you will leverage Generative AI tools like AWS Bedrock and LangChain to drive testing efficiency and productivity. You will Design, develop, and maintain advanced automated test frameworks from the ground up. Create AI-based automation solutions using AWS Bedrock and frameworks like LangChain or Strands. Implement "self-healing" test scripts and Intelligent Test Automation (ITA) strategies to reduce manual maintenance. Deploy and configure automation assets within CloudBees or Jenkins CI/CD pipelines. Troubleshoot complex technical issues within the automation infrastructure by analyzing logs and determining root causes. Collaborate with Solution Architects to design and architect AI agents for testing. Assist with performance engineering, infrastructure management, and provisioning services in AWS. Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience in software development and test automation. Expertise in Java and Python (both are required). Strong proficiency in SQL and Unix Shell scripting. Hands-on experience with Selenium or Playwright. Experience with CI/CD tools, specifically Jenkins or CloudBees. Proven experience with Git for version control. Deep understanding of AI/ML core concepts and the machine learning lifecycle. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or IT (Experience can be substituted for the right "Rockstar" candidate). Experience with AWS Bedrock, LangChain, or AWS Strands. Previous experience in the Healthcare or Insurance domain. Familiarity with performance engineering and microservices/containerized applications (Docker/Kubernetes). Experience with AI tools for test generation and refactoring.
