Full-Time Job Summary DMAero, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Software Test Engineer to support the testing, verification, and validation of software used in aerospace and defense systems. This position will work closely with software, electrical, and systems engineering teams to develop and execute test procedures, identify and document software issues, and ensure software products meet technical, functional, and customer requirements. The ideal candidate has strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, enjoys hands-on testing, and is comfortable working in a structured engineering environment. Experience with software testing, Linux, scripting, embedded systems, or aerospace/defense programs is highly desirable. Duties & Responsibilities Develop, document, and execute software test plans, test procedures, and test cases based on system and software requirements. Perform functional, integration, regression, and system-level software testing. Verify software performance against established requirements and acceptance criteria. Identify, document, track, and help troubleshoot software defects and unexpected system behavior. Reproduce reported software issues and work with developers to verify corrective actions. Analyze test results, logs, system outputs, and other technical data to identify potential issues. Assist with automated test development and execution where applicable. Support testing of embedded software, hardware/software interfaces, and integrated systems. Perform testing in Linux-based development and test environments. Maintain accurate test records and configuration-controlled documentation. Support software verification and validation activities throughout the development lifecycle. Participate in engineering reviews and provide test status, findings, and recommendations. Collaborate with software, electrical, systems, and integration engineers to resolve technical issues. Support customer demonstrations, acceptance testing, and qualification activities as required. Assist with the development and maintenance of test equipment, scripts, tools, and test environments. Follow DMAero quality procedures, engineering processes, and applicable program requirements. Perform other engineering and testing duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field preferred. Experience with software testing, verification, validation, or quality assurance is preferred. Familiarity with Linux environments. Basic programming or scripting experience using languages such as Python, C, C++, Bash, or similar . Ability to read and interpret software requirements, technical documentation, and test procedures. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document test results. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience in one or more of the following areas is a plus: Embedded software or firmware testing Aerospace, avionics, defense, or military systems Software verification and validation Automated software testing Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) or system integration testing Linux command-line tools and scripting C/C++ software development or debugging Python test automation Network configuration and troubleshooting Git or other configuration/version-control tools Requirements traceability and configuration management Test equipment and laboratory environments DO-178C or other safety-critical software development standards Security Requirements Must be a U.S. Citizen .

$80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
