The ideal candidate is a senior testing professional who thrives in dynamic environments, provides leadership across Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid methodologies, and ensures testing excellence through proactive guidance and cross-team collaboration. This position supports the IRS Enterprise System Testing (EST) program, which provides comprehensive testing and quality assurance services to ensure mission critical IRS applications are secure, reliable, and ready for deployment. This position will be in Lanham, Maryland. Day to
Proactively identify use cases for test automation within supported projects.
Use test automation tools to execute test scripts that validate functional, technical, and performance requirements.
Use Government or Contractor-developed documentation to construct test cases with predetermined results and test data to verify program functionality and/or interfaces through assigned systems.
Review output to determine whether the test results fulfill the established requirements, and if necessary, notify the responsible programmers, both verbally and in writing, of errors, omissions, and inconsistencies in the programs and/or documentation.
Coordinate test activities with project stakeholders.
Coordinate work assignments to ensure timely and accurate completion of testing.
Train other contractors or government personnel in use of automated testing tools.
Lead and oversee testing activities with initiative and accountability, applying deep expertise while guiding others and rapidly adapting to new systems and domains.
Demonstrated mastery in software testing, bringing deep expertise and advanced problem-solving capabilities.
Experience providing strategic guidance on testing practices across Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery models, ensuring alignment and quality across diverse project environments.
Experience leading and assisting other Test Engineers.
Must have knowledge and experience working with and supporting the development of an overall test Plan and tailored test plans for each release.
Must have experience preparing comprehensive reports on testing progress/issues and remedial action.
Hands-on experience with Jira and Xray, familiarity with Atlassian products, version control and collaborative software such as GitHubExperience using test automation tools such as:

Qualifications Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree and 8 years of experience or a Masters degree and 6 years of experience or an Associates degree and 10 years of experience or a High School diploma/equivalent and 12 years of experience Must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident (Green card holder- must have 3 or more US residency)Must be able to obtain and maintain an MBI clearance.Demonstrated mastery in software testing, bringing deep expertise and advanced problem-solving capabilities.
